The Osun State University Alumni Association made history again yesterday with the successful hosting of the pre-inauguration meeting of its Oyo Branch. The meeting, which was held at Makola Cultural Center, Ibadan on the 21st December, 2024 had a good number of passionate members in attendance.
The National President, Comr. Abubakar AbdulBasit Olalekan in his opening remarks encouraged members of the Uniosun Alumni Association to be more active and involved in the activities of the Association. He also stressed that the essence of creating more branches for the Association is to foster wider participation and to make the Association more accessible for its members all over the world.
Key outcomes of the meeting include the election of interim officers to lead the branch’s initial activities. The Interim officials are:
- Mr. Ohamara Chinedu Victor, Acting Branch Chairman
- Mr. Adeyemi Ayomide, Acting Secretary
- Mr Olakojo Samson, Acting Public Relations Officer (PRO)
- Mr Oludare Theophilus, Acting Branch Treasurer
- Mrs Lydia, Acting Social Director
The gathering is no doubt a reflection of the members’ shared commitment to the Association’s growth and development. Again the meeting was well attended by Alumni Members who are residents in Oyo state including Members of the National Executive Council of the Association who travelled with the National President to attend the pre-inauguration.
“We have quite a lot to accomplish as an Association, and every bona fide Alumnus of Osun State University should be willing to contribute their quota to the progress of the Association” remarked the Association’s President, Abubakar Abdulbasit Olalekan.
