In response to the growing global demand for a purpose and vision-driven Alumni Community, the Osun State University Alumni Association today 23rd of August, 2024 organized a leadership capacity-building workshop for the National Executives, Board of Trustees, Stakeholders and various Committee Members of the Association.
Comr. Olokuta Abdulbasit, the current National President of the Association noted that the workshop is an avenue to discuss critical issues that can help improve the growth and leadership quality of the University Alumni Association.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Odunayo Clement Adebooye in is goodwill address encouraged the members of the Alumni Association both home and abroad to come together to support the growth of the Association and the University at large. He noted that he has been receiving positive calls across the globe from several employers who commended the work-effectiveness and efficiency of the University graduates.
The first Guest Speaker at the event, Engr. (Chief) Wale Sunday Olaleye (FNSE), the immediate past OAU Alumni President emphasized the need for the establishment of branches for the Association both locally and internationally. He also encouraged the need for a cordial relationship between the University management and the Alumni Association.
Mr Marcus Oladepo Awobifa, the Director of Advancement Office, Uniosun, Who also was the second Guest Speaker spoke on the need to give more opportunities to Alumni members to contribute their quota to the development of the Alumni Association. In the same vein, Mr Marcus stressed the need for the leadership of the Association to create a wider network for more members to contribute to the welfarism of various indigent students across all the University Campuses.
The Leadership Capacity-Building workshop was graced by top management staff of the University, led by the Vice-Chancellor Professor Odunayo Clement Adebooye. Other dignitaries present were: The University Registrar, Mrs. Atinuke A. Oguntunde, the University Bursar, Mr. Muideen Akintayo Lasisi, the University Public Relations Officer, Mr Ademola Adesoji and the Director Academic Planning, Dr. Muktar Femi Abanikanda and a host of other special guests and dignitaries.
