The Osun State Branch of the Osun State University Alumni Association came alive on Friday, 29th December 2024, as members gathered for a vibrant End-of-Year Picnic and Reunion at the picturesque Owala Lake Resort in Oba-Oke, Osun State. The event, organized by the Interim Executive Committee, was a refreshing blend of nostalgia, camaraderie, and celebration.
Led by the Interim Branch Chairman, Dr. Idris Adetunji Babatunde, the programme witnessed a commendable turnout of alumni from various sets who came together to reconnect, unwind, and chart a renewed path for the branch’s future. The serene environment of Owala Lake Resort offered a perfect backdrop for the occasion, with nature’s tranquility enhancing the experience.
The day featured fun-filled activities including team games, dance sessions, a shared picnic, and an interactive time of reflection on life after graduation. Dr. Babatunde, in his welcome address, expressed his appreciation to members for their presence and commitment to reviving the branch. He emphasized the need for sustained collaboration to build a vibrant and impactful alumni community in Osun State.
Although the National President of the Alumni Association, Mr. Abubakar Abdulbasit Olalekan, could not attend in person, he was ably represented by members of the National Executive Council, including the General Secretary, Mr. Sulaimon Ajibola Ibrahim. In his goodwill message delivered on behalf of the President, Mr. Ibrahim conveyed the national body’s satisfaction with the efforts of the Osun Branch and reiterated the commitment of the national leadership to support grassroots engagements that foster unity and development.
The event ended on a high note with group photographs, heartfelt conversations, and renewed bonds of friendship. With the energy and dedication demonstrated by the interim leadership, there is growing optimism that the Osun Branch is on the path to becoming one of the most vibrant arms of the Alumni Association.
